📚 The Athlete's Guide to Sponsorship 📚 Got a Glow-Up!
A few new sections and stories bring our classic into 2024!
We have a BUSY year ahead at Strong Girl Publishing, with three brand-new books coming in 2024. But we’re starting the year with a tiny glow-up from one of our older books…
The Athlete's Guide to Sponsorship just got a mini-update to bring us into 2024! While 100% of the original content is still applicable, I wanted to add a few new things, like how to use (not abuse) AI, looking for sponsors who match your values, not just ones who make cool-looking gear, and a few things I’ve learned behind-the-scenes working with a team the last couple years… including the reminder that a ‘no’ is rarely about you at all!
Pssst: If you bought a copy of The Athlete's Guide to Sponsorship in the last year, hit us up at info [at] stronggirlpublishing.com with a copy of your receipt (or photo of the book) and we’ll send you an updated PDF and epub!
A quick note from the founder
You may have also notice that we’ve added a paid tier here on Substack. Our goal is to allow our authors to get the greatest percentage of payouts on their books. (Founder Molly Hurford’s book profits all go directly back into the business!) That means every little bit helps, and we’ll be using all proceeds from Substack subs to help promote author’s books, boost their payouts when we share their content, and generally keep the lights on.
And while all newsletter content will remain free, paid subscribers will be getting some rad benefits, like sneak peeks from books months before they hit the shelves, and the chance to volunteer to be an early reader—meaning we send you a free book!
I’m hoping to keep the perks coming and continue to grow this part of the company, with a very long-term dream of adding a Sassy-style magazine for girls in sport to the publishing house at some point in the future along with more and more books.
And with that, thank you so much for any/all of your support, it means the world. Whether you choose to jump into the paid plan or you continue free, I’m just so thankful you’re along for the ride. Anytime you share this with friends, send books to girls in your life, shop the Strong Girl Publishing store… my heart bursts with gratitude. I appreciate you all!
