SHOULD YOU ADD OR SUBTRACT WHEN IT COMES TO HEALTHY HABITS?
Hello, hello!
As we get into the holiday season, we've been talking a lot the idea of taking things away rather than adding things to boost our overall healthy lives. This is kind of counter to the narrative that being healthier involves doing 'more' and it's particularly good to think about this time of year, when we'd rather be relaxing with family than adding a ton more training hours.
Basically, as you think about healthy habits, think about if adding versus subtracting makes more sense for you as an easier starting point. Everyone has different ways of finding success when it comes to habit change. For some, thinking about adding healthy habits is an easier starting point than subtracting unhealthy ones, and can lead to eventually overpowering or replacing those bad habits. Subtraction Habits include:
Reducing alcohol to 3-4 drinks per week (or whatever you decide is less than your current habit)
Not ordering an appetizer at the restaurant (or digging into the bread basket)
You can read the entire article to get more ideas here, and don't forget to pick up our new book, Becoming A Consummate Athlete right here for more on how to best implement healthy habits into your life... and if you already got a copy + found it helpful, do us a huge favor and pop over to Amazon to quickly leave a rating or review (every single one makes a huge difference!).
Thanks so much for being part of our crew—now have a happy, active, healthy week!!
