THE CONSUMMATE ATHLETE NEWSLETTER...
Live a healthy, adventurous life
Hellooooooo!
It's official, The Outdoor Edit is now part of ConsummateAthlete.com, combined with The Consummate Athlete Podcast and my husband Peter's coaching company, formerly Smart Athlete. And frankly, I LOVE how the merger has turned out. From what I've heard, people are enjoying the content—and we have a ton this month—and the fact that it's all in one place, whether you need a suggestion on the best pair of bib shorts, want to hear about how to re-motivate yourself right now, are looking for a new yoga sequence to try or need a new training plan to fit your re-imagined goals.
Like we said last newsletter, this is about creating more resilient athletes—and a tighter-knit community! A Consummate Athlete thrives in any conditions by being able to adapt their movement to fit the weather/group/terrain etc. They are social and healthy while also being athletic.
If you haven't yet, please take a look at the new site over at ConsummateAthlete.com and let me know what you think!
Stay safe,
Molly
NEW YOGA SEQUENCE
If you're looking for something low-key to get you going in the morning, this 5 minute session literally never leaves the mat—as in, you stay connected the entire time, no standing required. But it still moves you just enough that you'll finish feeling more awake and alert! Super Easy Morning Yoga—New Video
KNOW A NEW WALKER, RUNNER OR CYCLIST? SHARE THIS:
I've seen a ton of new runners, walkers and cyclists outside lately, and I'm so stoked on it. But I'm also a little scared, honestly: I've now been buzzed by dozens of cyclists on the wrong side of the road or sidewalk, and had to dodge a lot of runners/joggers who are walking with traffic instead of against it. If you know someone who's just getting outside, I put together a simple infographic and some basic safety tips for them here, so please share: Running, Walking + Cycling Safety. (For next level cycling tips, I rounded up a few here, including the gentle reminder to not wear underwear with bike shorts! 6 Things New Cyclists Need to Know)
LOW MOTIVATION OR LEGIT BURNOUT
...And a few ways to tell the difference, especially when you're debating cancelling a training session for the day. Read about what to do if you're questioning "should I run/ride/lift/etc. today?" here: Lacking Motivation Versus Burnout
