The Cozy Athlete, Wellness on a Budget + More! | The Outdoor Edit Newsletter
THE OUTDOOR EDIT NEWSLETTER
Hellooooooo!
So, I woke up yesterday to a couple of fluffy inches of snow. I was psyched, it felt like a snow day. Three hours later, it was still coming down. This morning, I woke up to over a foot of snow on the porch. Winter is officially here, and thankfully, I did my last super-long run (a birthday 33KM trail run!) earlier this week. Still, I'm training right now, but I find it super hard to motivate when all I want to do is stay inside and be cozy. For some reason, I have a hard time combining the cozy + athlete personalities together. It feels like it needs to be all or nothing sometimes. Anyone else?
To that end, I'm re-reading an article I wrote a while back on how to Hygge for athletes—because we all deserve some coziness!
XO,
Molly
PS: If you bought Shred Girls: Lindsay's Joyride, do me a solid and pop over to Amazon to rate and review AND share with a friend? Holiday season is coming and I would love to see Shred Girls getting some new girls stoked on riding in the new year!
FREE WELLNESS
I'm the first to admit that a lot of my hard-earned cash goes towards wellness 'stuff,' from food to gear, but I'm also the first to tell you that hey, not many of us have a huge budget for that stuff. I certainly don't! Sometimes, it feels like wellness equals 'buying new $hit,' but honestly, so much of that stuff is just fancy trappings. There are a lot of ways most of us can do better with our own wellness and health that don't cost a ton, and I wanted to break down a few of the myths around wellness + showcase a few great options. PACKING LISTS
I'm currently packing A LOT of bags because we're moving out of one apartment, storing some stuff, and traveling with even more... Until April. I'll ride and run a lot, but also be trying to just live comfortably, so I have list after list of things that I'll be packing. Which is a topic I've written about extensively, given our travel-heavy lifestyle, so I'm finding myself actually re-reading a ton of my own content to make sure I get everything. Trip coming up (like, ahem, a women's gravel training camp in Girona, Spain? There might be a list you can use here:

THE ATHLETE'S GUIDE TO SPONSORSHIP
I'm really proud of my most recent big project, My Newest Book, “The Athlete’s Guide to Sponsorship,” and after a ton of work, it's finally out in the world! I realize this is a SUPER niche project, but after years working in sports journalism, being an athlete, being a team manager, being a coach for junior racers, and living with pros around the world, I had A LOT to say. It was one of those books that I just couldn't not write. So, if you are or you know an aspiring pro athlete, check it out! (I think it's also a great resource for team managers, even of smaller club teams.)
