THE OUTDOOR EDIT NEWSLETTER
Hellooooooo!
Hands up if you're finally in your offseason for the year (waves arms wildly in the air)! I finally finished out my season with two weeks of racing—a 5K and a 50K—and it was bittersweet to say 'that's it for 2019.' I am definitely ready for a break and a chance to focus in and work on building for 2020, but I admit, I'm starting to get nervous about even thinking about 2020 goals! Anyone else in the same boat?
XO,
Molly

PEEING IN BIB SHORTS
If you've ever met me at a talk, ride or race, we've probably discussed this topic at length. But if you're new to cycling and have no idea how to pee in bib shorts, I have all the methods listed out for you here. Honestly, the best thing I ever spent money on was Velocio's super comfy bib shorts, because they pull and zip down for super-easy pee stops. But there are ways to make any bib short pee-able! Basically, I'm a HUGE fan of switching from regular shorts to bib shorts, so I want to make sure no one is avoiding the switch simply because of the fear of bathroom breaks. THE GPS WATCH I ACTUALLY WEAR
I just wrote about the Garmin Forerunner 35. I agonized earlier this summer over getting a GPS watch. I was picky as hell. I had wants and needs—long battery life, easy uploading, wrist-based heart rate since I won't wear a monitor—and I had EGO. The Garmin Forerunner 35 is the cheapest in the Forerunner collection, so I thought as A Serious Runner, I was beyond it. But it kept coming up as the watch that satisfied my requirements. Honestly? It's officially the only watch I've ever worn regularly. And I've had some NICE watches over the years. For $120, it's the most affordable GPS watch around and it's seriously THE BEST.
