THE OUTDOOR EDIT NEWSLETTER
Hellooooooo!
Holy hot weather, Batman. I'll keep this short and sweet—it's been a relatively calm couple of weeks here, including finally getting to jump into our big trail race in our backyard at Blue Mountain, the Summit 700... I don't know that my calves have forgiven me yet, but the experience was amazing! I hope everyone is getting outside, even in the heat wave that's hitting the east coast, and staying hydrated before, during and after activity—I'm digging cucumbers doused in vinegar as my current hydrating-but-tasty snack in addition to tons of water.
A quick reminder: If you bought Shred Girls: Lindsay's Joyride, do me a solid and pop over to Amazon to rate and review? ... I just saw the illustrations for book 2 of the series and I am getting so excited!!
ANYWAY. Let's talk about what's new and exciting!
XO,
Molly
REUSING + RECYCLING
I’ve talked a lot about nuun electrolyte tables lately because as temps rise, I rely on the electrolytes more than ever… Nuun comes in these small little tubes, and while you can just recycle them, I started to think more about how to upcycle them, with my personal favorite being as a travely jewelry holder that helps keep necklaces from tangling! Read the rest here: 5 Ways to Upcycle a Nuun Tube for Travel, Training + Food
MORNING YOGA + STAYING IN THE ROUTINE
This week, we talked about sticking to routines and dealing with major life shifts on The Consummate Athlete Podcast. My personal favorite was talking about developing routines around healthy habits like my morning yoga and core, which is honestly the healthy thing I've done that makes me the proudest. I remember the first month of doing it, it kind of sucked... but now, I can't imagine my day without getting in the quick flow that I do. So, we talked about what starting that looked like and some tips that are worth trying if you've been struggling to stick to some healthy habit.

Lindsay can't wait to spend her summer break reading comics and watching superhero movies--until she finds out she'll be moving in with her weird older cousin Phoebe instead. And Phoebe has big plans for Lindsay: a BMX class at her bike park with cool-girl Jen and perfectionist Ali. Lindsay's summer of learning awesome BMX tricks with new friends and a new bike turns out to be more epic than any comic book--and it's all leading up to a jumping competition. But some of the biker boys don't think girls should be allowed to compete in BMX. Now it's up to Lindsay, Jen, and Ali to win the competition and prove that anyone can be great at BMX.
