Hellooooooo!
WHAT A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I raced the North Face Endurance Challenge 50K trail run at Bear Mountain and I will never again underestimate when someone tells me a course is 'rocky and technical.' Holy moly, it was brutal. Then, 3 days later, Shred Girls: Lindsay's Joyride was launched and we had the official launch party at Joyride150 in Markham Ontario this Saturday to celebrate. Phew!
But back to business as usual... We're on the lookout for more questions for our training and nutrition Q&A episodes of The Consummate Athlete Podcast! Respond here with any questions: there's no question too general OR too specific.
ANYWAY. Let's talk about what's new and exciting!
XO,
Molly
PODCAST BONANZA
So excited that I got to hop on The Sonya Looney Show and the CXHairs Podcast this week to talk about all things cycling, training, life/work balance, making friends as a young athlete and as an adult, and of course, Shred Girls!! The interviews are completely different and cover a huge range of topics—and while I'm not saying anyone should listen to me talk for two episodes, I have to say that both Sonya and Bill are such fantastic interviewers with their own unique takes on things and stories that it's really worth listening to both just to hear what they have to share!!
NEED MORE CONFIDENCE?
With the launch of “Shred Girls: Lindsay’s Joyride” and my first race of the season this month, I needed a little confidence boost. Enter: “The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance—What Women Should Know” by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman. I think we could all use a little more confidence in our lives—and this book isn’t only about HAVING confidence, it’s about USING it to our best advantage.
...WHAT ABOUT MOTIVATION
We had Dr. Simon Marshall on the Consummate Athlete Podcast to talk about the ways we motivate ourselves to get through hard workouts, and what's going on in our brains when we do them.... But Peter and I also dissect the physical hurdles to getting motivated to hit a training session as well, so there are tons of practical tips for setting yourself up for success and pushing through hard moments. Check it out—Motivating Your Workout with Simon Marshall

And Phoebe has big plans for Lindsay: a BMX class at her bike park with cool-girl Jen and perfectionist Ali. Lindsay's summer of learning awesome BMX tricks with new friends and a new bike turns out to be more epic than any comic book--and it's all leading up to a jumping competition.
