Confidence + 1 Month to Go!!
SHRED GIRLS HANGOUTS
Hey Shred Girls—
1 MONTH UNTIL Shred Girls: Lindsay's Joyride is released! To say I'm freaking out would be an understatement. Deep, calming breaths...
ANYWAY. A lot of you current Shred Girls are probably getting ready for race season, which is super exciting and admittedly a little scary at the same time. So, in case you needed to hear it today, you've totally got this. Even if a race doesn't go according to plan, remember to enjoy the process—even a bad day is good information for next time! And a good day is cause for serious celebration so remember to take a minute to acknowledge when stuff goes well instead of instantly shifting gears and starting prep for the next race. In fact, even if you're not racing, this is great stuff to think about on your next ride, good or bad!
OK, let's talk about a few cool things this week...
XO,
Molly (and Lindsay, Ali and Jen!)

SHARE THE BOOK ON SOCIAL
Have you pre-ordered Shred Girls: Lindsay's Joyride yet? If you do, send me a copy of the receipt and I'll mail you some super rad Shred Girls stickers (that can go anywhere, including on your bike frame!)... If you've done this already, just share this email or the pre-order link with a Shred Girl you know and LMK and I'll hook you up with bonus stickers!
MUST READ
"The Confidence Code for Girls: Taking Risks, Messing Up, and Becoming Your Amazingly Imperfect, Totally Powerful Self" by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman. I think this book is a really great non-fiction accompaniment to the Shred Girls series since my books and this are all about finding your confidence and embracing your true self along the way. I've loved the adult version of The Confidence Code, and this one for girls is honestly even better!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Start from the bottom up. Confidence is the hardest thing to teach, so I think it’s super important to start from the bottom and get those early wins." -BMXer Kara Bruce (who will be at the Joyride150 launch party on May 11!) Read all her great advice here
LOVE THIS
REI's Co-op Cycles Rain Jacket in Cocoa is basically the most affordable, stylish raincoat I've seen in ages and it's on a HUGE sale right now for $30 (from $90!). If you need a raincoat for the current April Showers, I HIGHLY recommend getting on this.

ABOUT SHRED GIRLS: Lindsay's Joyride
An empowering new series from the cyclist who runs Shred-Girls.com is guaranteed to give readers an adrenaline rush--and the confidence girls gain from participating in sports. It's time to ride and save the day!
Lindsay can't wait to spend her summer break reading comics and watching superhero movies--until she finds out she'll be moving in with her weird older cousin Phoebe instead. And Phoebe has big plans for Lindsay: a BMX class at her bike park with cool-girl Jen and perfectionist Ali. Lindsay's summer of learning awesome BMX tricks with new friends and a new bike turns out to be more epic than any comic book--and it's all leading up to a jumping competition. But some of the biker boys don't think girls should be allowed to compete in BMX. Now it's up to Lindsay, Jen, and Ali to win the competition and prove that anyone can be great at BMX.
