Party Time + 3 Months Til Lift-Off!
SHRED GIRLS HANGOUTS
Hey Shred Girls—
Super excited that we're sub-3-months until Shred Girls: Lindsay's Joyride comes out! On a personal level, this is a huge thing for me not just because it's a book that I wrote, but because of the character, for a couple reasons. Lindsay is a shy girl who discovers a love of cycling and it changes everything for her, and that's huge for me because cycling really did change my life. But beyond that, I named this character Lindsay after my best friend, the one who made sure that my painful shyness never made me miss a moment when we were kids. I owe her big-time, and seeing this book come to life and take on a life of its own feels so good because of that.
So I hope you love it, too. And without further ado, let's hop to it—what's new this week...
XO,
Molly (and Lindsay, Ali and Jen!)
BTW: Shred Girls—Lindsay's Joyride is now available for pre-order in Canada and Europe!

BIG SCARY GOALS
You might remember real life Shred Girl Elissa Cummings from a couple months ago—the mountain biker had just come back from dealing with a concussion and was ready to tackle her next adventure… biking the Tour Divide, from Canada to Mexico… After working as a bike guide in Whistler, BC, for a few months. The huge adventure happened over the fall and she’s back in Canada now, prepping for her next adventure, and while she recovers from this one, she had some amazing stories to share over the 3500 kilometers she covered, including a meetup with a grizzly! (This is part 2 of 2, because there were too many adventures to cover-make sure to go back and read part 1!!)

MAKE FRIENDS RIDING
“I have made so many amazing friends although, I didn’t really know anyone at joyride until recently. Going more often you tend to see the same people and meeting people becomes easier. I am super shy and will rarely start a conversation with someone new but the great thing about riding is you already know that you have something in common! Every girl I have met through riding has been super rad so there is nothing to be scared of! Meeting the first few people is the hardest, but it becomes easier once you start to make some friends that ride. A great place to start is at Joyride150’s Women’s Weekend [or the Shred Girls launch party in May]! The park is only girls and the skills range from people just getting on a bike to some really experienced riders. This makes it a great environment to meet new people, everyone is there to learn new things and have fun. If you see someone trying something that you can do, go offer them some advice. If someone is trying something that you also want to learn, go learn it with them! I am more intimidated talking to people that are better than I am but I’ve finally started doing it and it has never failed! In my experiences, people that ride bikes are all pretty awesome and there’s no reason to be scared to talk to them!” -Dezi Smith (Read even more amazing advice here)

ABOUT SHRED GIRLS: Lindsay's Joyride
An empowering new series from the cyclist who runs Shred-Girls.com is guaranteed to give readers an adrenaline rush--and the confidence girls gain from participating in sports. It's time to ride and save the day!
Lindsay can't wait to spend her summer break reading comics and watching superhero movies--until she finds out she'll be moving in with her weird older cousin Phoebe instead. And Phoebe has big plans for Lindsay: a BMX class at her bike park with cool-girl Jen and perfectionist Ali. Lindsay's summer of learning awesome BMX tricks with new friends and a new bike turns out to be more epic than any comic book--and it's all leading up to a jumping competition. But some of the biker boys don't think girls should be allowed to compete in BMX. Now it's up to Lindsay, Jen, and Ali to win the competition and prove that anyone can be great at BMX.
