The Outdoor Edit Newsletter: Winter Run Motivation, Your ONE Thing & My Gift Guide!

Super quickie newsletter this week! I'm about to start the pilgrimage back to Ontario from Costa Rica and it's been an awesome week of taking some time away from being attached at the hip to my laptop. I've done a few talks and kept up with work, but the big thing for me was that I went hard the month prior to us leaving to get all my articles turned in so I could spend 10 days not writing anything other than emails. Normally, I know people would do the opposite—turn off email and focus on writing for fun on vacation. But when it's your main job, it's nice to step back and recharge your typing fingers! So I've read a ton instead and written (on my legal pads!) a bunch of new ideas. Let's get to it!
XO, Molly
PS: Respond to this email or hit me up on Instagram... I would love to hear from you all, what you're into, what you want to see more of, etc., so feel free to respond to this and let me know!
1 THEOUTDOOREDIT.COM IS BACK!
You may have noticed in November, my site, The Outdoor Edit, was loading painfully slow or not at all. After working with an awesome company from Collingwood, Canopy Media, it's back and loading faster than ever (and a ton of new content is in there thanks to the fact that while it was down, I was writing but not posting!) So check it out and let me know what you think, if there are any issues, any content you'd like to see more of, etc.!

2 WINTER RUN MOTIVATION
Over at MapMyRun, I did a very timely article on how to motivate yourself to get out and get running even when the weather sucks. If you're finding it hard to get out the door, give it a read!

3 MY GIFT GUIDE
Still Christmas shopping? (Me too.) But at least I've managed to get some of my shopping done, and in the process, compiled a few of the things that I'm giving the active people in my life... And, ok, a few things I'm hinting that Peter should maybe get me!

4 WHAT'S YOUR ONE THING?
I picked a very Resolution-friendly read for this month's Athletic Bookworms: The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. It's all about focusing in on the big things that will make the biggest impact in your life. I tore through it over the last week and have a TON of ideas because of it, so I highly recommend grabbing a copy!

That's it for this week—if you found anything inspiring in here, do me a solid and forward to a friend!

Just a reminder, since pre-orders are key to the success of any book, and I would love to get this into the hands of tons of girls, not just ones who already love riding bikes. So, if you've enjoyed my writing over the years, give this book a shot and buy a copy for the Shred Girl (or future Shred Girl) in your life!
An empowering new series from the cyclist who runs Shred-Girls.com is guaranteed to give readers an adrenaline rush--and the confidence girls gain from participating in sports!
It's time to ride and save the day!
Lindsay can't wait to spend her summer break reading comics and watching superhero movies--until she finds out she'll be moving in with her weird older cousin Phoebe instead. And Phoebe has big plans for Lindsay: a BMX class at her bike park with cool-girl Jen and perfectionist Ali.
Lindsay's summer of learning awesome BMX tricks with new friends and a new bike turns out to be more epic than any comic book--and it's all leading up to a jumping competition.
But some of the biker boys don't think girls should be allowed to compete in BMX. Now it's up to Lindsay, Jen, and Ali to win the competition and prove that anyone can be great at BMX.
PS: If you pre-order, email me the receipt and I'll send you a signed Shred Girls postcard + Shred Girls bike frame stickers so you can still give it as a Christmas present!
